We’re only three-quarters of the way through 2010, and there have already been countless note-worthy songs released by artists many of us have grown to love and even more by rising acts who are making names for themselves like never before. With this seemingly unending pool of excellent new material, it’s extremely difficult to only include certain songs, but I’ve narrowed it down to the 23 that I’ve listened to most consistently so far this year. The following are, to me, Showstoppers — songs which I sometimes have to pause halfway through in order to let my mind to catch up with what I’m hearing. This is not a “best of” list, nor is it by any means comprehensive; I’d need to listen to a lot more music for a lot more hours a day to create a truly well-rounded list. However, the following tracks have seen incessant playtime on my end since the first time I’ve heard each one. They mean a lot to me and even more to the musicians who made them, so if you like any in particular, do what you can to support the artists. In the end, I did this for fun/to make myself a great playlist, so I hope you enjoy the songs on this compilation as much as I do.
