Video | Jules and Jim :: Leaving Home/Going Home
I’m going home in a few weeks. It’s been a long vacation here doing work. I forgot as much as I learned, but maybe can find some contentment in finding the “origin” of something I discovered a year ago today.
Jules and Jim, the foundation of what we today call jj. There were three.
Three.

jj’s upcoming mixtape, Kills, is due out on Christmas Eve. No word if “No More You” will appear.
jj :: Let Them

Finally, my favorite Swedes are back, and they certainly didn’t lose their ability to transform R&B bangers into lush, balearic soundscapes. “Let Them” samples Akon classic “Right Now,” and right now, it’s making me feel great. Swedish label Sincerely Yours dropped the new track today along with the xx “Intro”-sampling “I’m the One/Money On My Mind.” Download both here, or below. I’ve missed these guys greatly. Today is a good day.

New: jj ∆ CEO Birthday

Despite recently finishing up their tour across the states with The xx, prolific Swedes Elin Kastlander and Joakim Benon, the names behind the once much more mysterious jj, have provided us with another magnificent, non-album track. “CEO Birthday” is their take on Jeremiah’s “Birthday Sex.” It is full of piano and the beauty of Elin’s voice, another spectacle of their talent and its versatility.“Here’s to those moments when the illusions of separation collapse and we are one, we are life. here’s to bonds stronger than blood. cin cin” (Sincerely Yours).
